Fulfillit.io runs 3PL for Amazon FBA sellers across 7 warehouses in the US and Canada. Boomdevs built the platform that automates it, in three months.

3PL Software Development for Fulfillit.io: Streamlining Amazon FBA at Scale

A 3PL business runs on two things at once. Physical boxes on real shelves. And the software that says which box is where, who owns it, and what they owe.

When the two drift apart, things go wrong fast. An order ships late. A seller gets billed for storage they didn’t use. A warehouse loses track of stock.

Fulfillit.io offers third-party logistics for Amazon FBA sellers: warehousing, prep and order fulfillment across multiple warehouses in the US and Canada. They needed an Amazon FBA 3PL platform that could run all of it automatically, for three types of users, with billing that changes by the day.

Boomdevs designed and built it. Front end, back end, admin panel and billing engine. Live in three months.

The Challenge

Fullfillit.io needed a platform that would automate their entire 3PL operation while offering an easy-to-use interface for multiple user roles, including Amazon FBA sellers, warehouse owners, and administrators.

The platform required robust security and a complex subscription model to manage payments based on product quantity, storage time, and additional services like repacking and fulfillment. The challenge was to develop a secure and scalable system that could handle:

• Automated Operations: From storing products in several locations to shipping orders out.

• Complex Subscription Model: Fees calculated based on various factors such as quantity, storage duration, and commissions.

• Security: Safeguarding data for multiple parties using the platform while preventing any errors that could disrupt physical product management.

Project Scope

Boomdevs was responsible for:

• Front-end Development: One clean interface, with different views for sellers, warehouse owners and admins. Our web app design team shaped each view around what that role checks most.

• Back-end Development: The automation behind inventory, billing and order fulfillment, built as a custom web app.

• Advanced Admin Panel: A robust admin panel for all user roles, including admin, warehouse owners, and sellers. This panel included management interfaces and advanced analytics to track and manage operations.

• System Integration & Automation: Ensuring that the platform could seamlessly handle logistics, fulfillment, and warehousing tasks while being highly secure and scalable

Key Features

Some of the key features that were critical for the project included:

• User-Friendly Interface: A streamlined platform for sellers to manage their products, fulfill orders, and track inventory across multiple warehouses.

• Complex Subscription Model: A dynamic fee structure that calculates charges based on product quantity, storage duration, repacking services, and fulfillment. It also integrates commission calculations for both the warehouse and the platform.

• Advanced Admin Panel: A powerful admin panel for managing all user roles (admins, warehouse owners, sellers). It features management tools, class analytics, and detailed tracking of operations to ensure everything is managed efficiently.

• High-Level Security: To protect sensitive data and ensure the safety of real-world products, we implemented advanced security measures to prevent data breaches and operational errors.

• Automation: The platform automatically handles order fulfillment, inventory updates, and warehouse commissions, ensuring smooth operations with minimal manual intervention.

Challenges

The most significant challenges were:

• Complex Subscription Model: Developing a system where subscription fees fluctuate based on product details, storage time, and services used, while also incorporating warehouse and platform commissions.

• Data Security & Reliability: Managing physical products in multiple locations required bulletproof security and a reliable system to prevent data loss and operational errors that could affect the fulfillment process.

Process & Strategy

We followed a comprehensive development process:

01

Design

The client provided some basic designs, which our in-house UI/UX designers improved and refined to create a final product that was both functional and visually appealing.

02

Development

Using PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, and Tailwind for front-end and back-end development, we automated key operations while ensuring scalability.

03

Testing

Intensive QA testing was conducted to ensure there were no errors in managing physical products and fulfilling orders. This was crucial given the high volume of orders handled by the platform. Our software testing covered every flow that touches stock or money.

04

Launch

The platform was delivered within just three months, meeting the client’s tight timeline for a rapid market launch. That’s the pace we aim for with every SaaS MVP.

Results &
Outcomes

The platform was a resounding success, providing the client with measurable business growth:

• Partnerships: Fullfillit.io has partnered with over 1,000 Amazon FBA sellers.

• Warehouse Network: The platform now manages operations across seven warehouses in the US and Canada.

• Order Volume: It handles over 100,000 orders per month, automating the entire fulfillment process.

• Client Satisfaction: The client was highly impressed by the quality of the platform and the quick turnaround time, with the project completed within three months.

If you run a logistics, warehousing or marketplace business, here’s the lesson. Your software has to match what’s on the shelf, every single time. Everything else sits on top of that.

That’s the kind of platform we build. Logistics SaaS development is the work that our SaaS product development team knows well, and we can help you automate operations like these.
